How it works and aftercare

What is it?

It is the same IPL technology, with filters that direct the light at the pigment of dark spots or at the red color of small visible vessels (spider veins, redness).

The light selectively heats that pigment or vessel, and the skin gradually clears it over the following days.

Benefits

  • It can lighten superficial dark spots, such as sun or age spots.
  • It can reduce redness and small visible vessels.
  • A more even skin tone.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone with superficial dark spots or solar lentigines.
  • Anyone with redness or small visible vessels on the face or legs.
  • Melasma needs a prior assessment: heat can make it worse.

What a session is like

  1. 01We assess the spot or lesion and choose the right filter.
  2. 02We apply gel and eye protection.
  3. 03We deliver the pulses over the area.
  4. 04We finish with a soothing product and sunscreen.

Options

How many sessions?

We work with plans of 8 to 12 sessions, spaced according to your assessment, because the skin needs time to clear the pigment.

After your session

  • Protect your skin. Avoid direct sun exposure and use SPF 50+ sunscreen every day. Reapply during the day if you are in the sun.
  • Soothe and hydrate. For the first few days use gentle, repairing products. Keep your skin hydrated and drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day.
  • Avoid irritants. For a few days, stop using retinoids, exfoliants, acids, vitamin C and any product that could sensitize the treated area.
  • Watch out for heat and friction. Avoid saunas, very hot water, intense exercise and friction on the area for 24 to 48 hours. Do not scratch or rub the skin.
  • What to expect. Mild redness or a feeling of warmth is normal. With depigmenting treatments, some spots may darken before they lighten. With vascular treatments, the area may look more marked for a while. Do not touch the skin.
  • If you have questions. If you notice intense irritation, blisters or an unusual reaction, contact us for guidance.

Good aftercare makes the difference for your skin.

Let us know beforehand if…

  • You have been diagnosed with melasma.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your skin is tanned or you take medication that makes you sensitive to the sun.

For guidance only. Whether a treatment is right for you, the number of sessions and the results depend on each person and are set at your prior assessment with our professional team.
